Why Are They Upset When Those Who Positioned for Growth Begin to Reap the Rewards?
By Engr. Omotayo Oyerokun
There is a stage in every growth story when preparation looks foolish to those who cannot yet see the vision.
When we told people to position themselves for growth, many questioned it. Some dismissed the opportunities. Others waited for certainty before making a move. And some simply believed there was still plenty of time.
But growth rarely waits for everyone to agree.
The people who understood the opportunity made decisions early. They invested their time, resources, relationships, skills and money into positioning themselves for what was coming. While others were watching, they were preparing.
Today, the results are becoming visible.
The same opportunities that were once questioned are now producing results. The people who positioned themselves early are beginning to reap the rewards of their decisions.
And strangely, some of those who once doubted the opportunity are now unhappy about the outcome.
But here is the reality: you cannot criticize someone’s preparation and then become angry when their preparation produces results.
Success is often the reward for seeing what others could not see, acting before it became obvious, and staying committed when there was little external validation.
Positioning matters.
In business, real estate, career development and life, timing can make a significant difference. Being early gives you the opportunity to learn, adapt, build relationships and establish your presence before the crowd arrives.
By the time everyone recognizes the opportunity, those who positioned themselves earlier may already have an advantage.
This is why you should never allow criticism to discourage you from preparing for the future.
Not every opportunity will work out. Not every prediction will be correct. But refusing to prepare simply because others do not understand your vision can cost you more than taking a calculated risk.
Growth rewards those who are willing to prepare before the results become obvious.
So, if you saw an opportunity, studied it, took the necessary risks and positioned yourself responsibly, do not feel guilty when the results eventually come.
You did not get lucky simply because others arrived late.
You prepared. You positioned. You stayed the course. And now you are reaping the rewards.
The lesson is simple:
Do not wait until everyone sees the opportunity before you act. By then, the best opportunities may already belong to those who had the courage to position themselves early.
